Bitcoin is the *currency of the Internet*. A distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without the need for any central authority whatsoever.
HELP - How to restore Mycelium wallet? Balance shows $0 (no bitcoin experience)
UPDATE: I figured it out. Downloaded another app called Coinomi and entered the 12 words phrase or “seed” and my bitcoin appeared! Maybe mycelium has a glitch! Hello bitcoin experts!! So, I have ZERO experience in bitcoin wallets and all this stuff, so please be patient with me. Context: in 2017 I bought whatever was worth 1k of bitcoin, I was recommended to download Mycelium as my wallet (that’s a far as my experience goes with bitcoin). Fast forward 2020 I remembered I had this “money” or whatever in there, I downloaded the app again entered the key words (that I had written down back then) and was able to enter my wallet but it shows my balance is $0. (For what I read something happens when you delete the app and re install it with the keys or whatever) I’m under the impression that you can recover your bitcoin with your “private key”, but I don’t know how. • I have all the key words • I have written down a bunch of numbers and letters (totaling 32 characters) in the following format: 12ab-12ab..... (with hyphens) • I also have a bunch of numbers and letters written down (over 32 characters) and no dashes Are any of those random characters my private key? If so, where do I enter it in Mycelium? Should I enter also the hyphens? Is it where it says “cold storage” Or is my money gone forever? I’ll appreciate any “bitcoin 101/for dummies help you can provide!!
I am new to the bitcoin world. I have a little currency in mycelium wallet, but the purchase I'm trying to make is LITERALLY 0.00001 more than I have. I want to add to it, but there is a $45 min to buy, but I only have $20... What can I do?
Did you notice? All of those who haven't stuck with bitcoin badly lost reputation, partially to equilibrium. Bitmain, Bitcoin Jesus, Coindesk, Vorhees along with Shapeshift, Mycelium, OpenBazaar, Armstrong along with Conbase and many more. Thanks to supporting shitcoins, those idiots!
How do I import an unencrypted (BTC and BCH) private key into the Bitcoin.com wallet app on Android? I can't find any way to import or swipe a simple private key and would prefer to use the Bitcoin.com wallet instead of using Mycelium that has that functionality. Is lacking this feature intentional?
I'd prefer to use the Bitcoin.com wallet app for Android to import an unencrypted private key because I trust the Bitcoin.com wallet team more than I trust the Mycelium team. But it seems that I'd be forced to keep using the Mycelium app because it has a private key import function and the Bitcoin.com wallet app is missing such a function. Why does the Bitcoin.com lack this feature? Is it intentional for some reason? If not, when will it be added? I think this feature should be added as well as a feature to show any unencrypted private key so that a user can copy it with a simple pen and paper and then put the paper in a bank's safety deposit box for example. Mycelium can do both of those things so I see no good reason why the Bitcoin.com wallet app should intentionally lack those features. Please add the "import and export unencrypted single address private key" features to the Bitcoin.com wallet app so that I can stop using the Mycelium wallet and start using the Bitcoin.com wallet app instead. The primary reason that I trust the Mycelium team less nowadays is that they seem to be incompetent because it's been 674 days since 2017-08-01 and they still have not managed to implement support for sending and receiving BCH. I've started to trust the Bitcoin.com wallet the most nowadays because it's become old enough with no loss of funds stories that they appear to have been enough "time tested". I trust the Mycelium wallet the second most and would strongly prefer not to use any other apps or programs for my "import an unencrypted private key" problem. I trust the Bitcoin ABC client too of course but then there's the problem with trusting the desktop OS and all the unisolated programs that are installed by default etc. This was asked before but didn't get any replies: https://www.reddit.com/btc/comments/974ybj/confused_import_a_private_key_to_bitcoincom_wallet/
